As part of this pilot, participating classes will receive free access to Thinking and Drawing Like an Artist within a custom SchoolSpace world through the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
New educational technologies are opening exciting opportunities to engage students in deeper, more creative learning. Michigan Virtual has partnered with Topia, the company behind SchoolSpace, a student-safe, interactive learning environment designed to support creativity, collaboration, and engagement through immersive digital spaces.
As part of this pilot, participating classes will receive free access to Thinking and Drawing Like an Artist within a custom SchoolSpace world through the end of the 2025-2026 school year. While the course content centers on artistic thinking and drawing, the true value of this experience lies in student voice. Students will share feedback, ideas, and reflections that help inform, shape, and co-create future learning environments.
This pilot is ideal for grades 6–8 and fits any class looking to foster critical thinking, creativity, and innovative problem-solving—while giving students a meaningful role in the evolution of educational technology.
What does pilot participation look like?

- An optional, recorded onboarding will be provided to support classroom rostering, world navigation, and use of data analytics.
- Following the pilot, teachers will be invited to complete a brief post-survey to help us better understand student interaction and engagement.
- The world and curriculum can be experienced on a school-provided device, and drawing activities can be completed via a student-chosen medium.
- Students will need access to their school-provided email to gain access to the world.
