Spelling instruction looks different in every classroom—and Spelling Safari is designed to meet students exactly where they are.
Created by educators, this adaptive spelling application personalizes learning for each student while helping teachers save time. As part of this free pilot opportunity, educators in grades K–5 can explore how Spelling Safari supports spelling development through engaging, standards-aligned practice that works in various instructional settings.
Pilot participants will have the opportunity to access software that adjusts to individual student needs, providing targeted practice that supports learners at different levels, without adding extra planning time!
Topia: SchoolSpace

Michigan Virtual has partnered with Topia, the company behind SchoolSpace, a student-safe, interactive learning environment designed to support creativity, collaboration, and engagement through immersive digital spaces.
As part of this pilot, participating classes will receive free access to Thinking and Drawing Like an Artist within a custom SchoolSpace world through the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
This pilot is ideal for grades 6–8 and fits any class looking to foster critical thinking, creativity, and innovative problem-solving—while giving students a meaningful role in the evolution of educational technology.

We partnered with Shoelace Learning to explore a game-based approach to reading comprehension and student engagement.
During this 8-week pilot, classrooms used Shoelace’s literacy games to support reading practice and help students stay motivated while working toward clear learning goals. Teachers were able to see how game-based learning could fit into instruction and support literacy growth in meaningful ways.
