Michigan Virtual Device & Technical Requirements or Restrictions
FlexPoint
Lightweight devices such as Apple iPads, Google Chromebooks*, and tablets have limited support for Java or Flash which still appear in a small percentage of our catalog. While FLVS does not offer technical support for these devices, we are working to remove Flash from our remaining course content. Students will need extra work-around steps or alternate browsers to engage with some portions of those courses. We recommend students have a Windows or Mac based computer available to complete coursework in the event that your selected mobile device does not meet the needs of the course.

Required Features:
- a flash that you can control and turn on/off as needed;
- OPTICAL zoom (the range doesn't matter as long as it can zoom);
- macro capability;
- USB cable or other means of transferring your photos from the camera to the computer;
- viewfinder OR monitor screen; and
- the ability to export photos in a .JPEG image file format.

Note: Video Cameras are NOT suitable. A smartphone is an acceptable option when paired with the use of an appropriate photo editing appplication and advanced camera settings available on your device.
