About This Course
As a school principal or building-level leader, providing constructive feedback to your teachers has a large impact on overall instruction. In this skill building course, you will address major components of observing and evaluating instruction. You will focus on becoming familiar with your observation tool, collecting observable data as evidence, having a plan of action, knowing how to implement strategies, and monitoring and supporting subsequent efforts. In this course, you will:
- Choose a teacher to evaluate throughout the course as an authentic case study
- Explore the state of legal issues related to staff supervision and evaluation
- Identify various models of instructional staff supervision and evaluation
- Demonstrate how to script and code a session according to your evaluation tool
