About This Course
Successful leaders in school institutions are visionaries who know how to use their authority to motivate and drive positive change. This problem-based course provides a theoretical and research base for understanding leadership, schools as organizations, and most importantly, the role of the school leader in driving change and improvement. You will study the concepts of organizational change and building a productive school culture. You will also enhance your skills in the areas of communication and consensus-building within the context of developing a school vision for learning.
In this course, you will:
- Develop a practical as well as a research and theoretical base for understanding leadership in schools
- Apply job-related experiences to enhance your knowledge, skills, and dispositions as a visionary leader
- Analyze your own leadership strengths and areas of improvement through self-assessment
