About This Course
This course equips educators with research-based strategies to support early writing development in young multilingual learners. Participants will explore the interconnected nature of writing, oral language, and vocabulary, and learn to foster foundational writing skills through modeling, scaffolded support, and culturally responsive practices. Through reflection and practical application, teachers will build confidence in guiding diverse learners through the stages of writing development.
In this course, you will:
- Explore the relationship between oral language, vocabulary, and writing development.
- Learn to model and scaffold early writing skills in multilingual learners.
- Apply culturally responsive practices to support diverse young writers.
- Build confidence in navigating stages of writing development.
- Reflect on and implement strategies for inclusive literacy instruction.
