How can we create classroom cultures that engage students in purposeful tasks and meaningful interactions that are focused on both the task and learning? It is generally acknowledged that purposeful planning paired with in-the-moment teaching decisions are essential for learner achievement. Creating an environment focused on the curriculum, the learning standards, and the unique learners often makes the difference between students who learn and student who learn to comply. Let’s explore ways to enhance learner engagement and ownership while focusing on the intentional teacher and learner interactions that will guide students into learning, growing, and prospering as life-long learners.
